New Year, New Beginnings

As we enter the new year 2018, a lot of opportunities has been given to us in order to make positive changes in our lives, this is a new year, new beginnings.

New Year, New Beginnings

I am sure a lot of us still believe in the tradition of writing new year’s resolution, I am guilty of that. I have noticed that as the year reach to an end we normally put so much pressure on ourselves. We feel guilty and like failures when we do not cross everything on our resolution list, but that is not suppose to be the case. People grow in different ways, sometimes we focus so much on the written goal and we forget to adjust ourselves when life pushes us in a different direction. Just because you did not lose that 5kg you set to lose at the beginning of the year, it does not make you a failure instead, life shows you where and how you need to work on yourself, and that might be your lack of commitment to plans or the fact that you just plain lazy. I honestly think we should first work on the things that delay us from reaching our goals than the goal itself.

New Year, New Beginnings

This is the new year, new beginnings which means I should first be realistic about the situation I am into, then create little steps to take me to the main goal. Sometimes we hard on ourselves and forget to enjoy life. Have a bigger plan for your life but also break it down into little goals, start achieving the small ones and celebrate it. Before you know it you will be achieving the main goal. If you cannot be committed to the small stuff, how can you trust yourself achieving the main one? start small and then work your way to the top.

New Year, New Beginnings

Do not be hard on yourself, a lot of people put pressure on themselves, I am one of them. It is my goal this year to let go of perfection and control in order to enjoy life.

New Year, New Beginnings

  1. Hi Nomusa,

I’m amazed by your writing and deep subjects that you always come up with!!!
And yes, a new year means, new beginnings and fresh starts. I believe that If you can let go of the past and free yourself from failure and disappointment, you can embrace a new perspective.

I think from now on I’ll have to appreciate every seconds, hours, moment that God has given to me this year and make the best of it, It is never too late to be what you had dreamed about…

Thanks for your motivation and reminder, keep it up GIRL, wop, wop!!!!! 😂😍😘

    1. Thank you Alain, yes and I still believe in fresh start, we just need to press the reset button and focus on the importance things we want to achieve

      1. Yes Nomusa, and workways, as Ray Bradbury said…”I know you’ve heard it a thousand times before. But it’s true–hard work pays off. If you want to be good, you have to practice, practice, practice. If you don’t love something, then don’t do it.”

I believe that people must focus and concentrate on what they like the most.

  2. Another inspirational article. I loved reading every bit of it. Especially the part where you mention how we fail to achieve those small little goals, we are not so committed to them and like you said, this just made me think deep on how I can manage to achieve that one primary goal! Thanks a lot for your posts, keep inspiring and motivating us, you are changing something in us, big or mall, it’s making a difference!!

    🙂

  3. I have never been one to make resolutions. But after reading this i feel like should and what chamged my mind is having little goals that lead to the main goal.

I actually have never thought of having little goals that lead me to the main goal. And maybe it will work out better for me to do it that way.

Thanks for a beautiful and inspiring read.

  4. I couldn’t have said it any better! This is such a realistic and motivational piece. It reminds us to plan, follow through on the plans and pray that God meets us in our plans. I loved how you also mention how we should focus on what is delaying our goals rather than berating ourselves up about not achieving what we want.Teach us we are your students lol.

  5. Thanks Nomusa for motivation. It is really going a long way. #baby steps
One of my new year’s resolutions is to think more with my mind and not my heart. Hopefully it will help reduce being a people’s pleaser and being highly sensitive person that I am.

  6. Hey sisi. Firstly I love how your body just transformed in that dress. You look stunning. Totally inspired by your blog. I totally believe in resolutions cause I’ve only managed to do 30% of them on a yearly basis lol. I want to give it a try this year and just not rather write them down but just do as much as I can and write down what I’ve archived. In this way I’ll say my resolutions were the list of things I archived lol. Its kinda the easy way out but it help me not to feel like failure.

Thanks for a lovely motivating article once again. Looking forward to the next one.

    1. Hi Naledi,

You not a failure, is that you haven’t find something that is truthful to you. I think you should try different things until you find what you like.Much love and thank you for your support

  7. Congratulations for this beautiful article you have published. Precious few have had the courage to write on the challenges of people seeing the goal by neglecting the path that leads to the actual goal. It like the result and the worker, you cannot neglect the person who produces the result. You have written an excellent article that should raise lots of eyebrows. Of course this effort is worth to be recognized. I admire you. I guess this means we will be seeing more of you online from now on. I say more power to you.
